Presbyterian Ladies' College was founded in 1915 and has since sustained an international reputation for academic excellence and outstanding success in preparing young women to lead active, purposeful lives.Evidence of our Scottish heritage is apparent throughout the beautiful Peppermint Grove campus as well as in the distinctive Black Watch tartan uniform and PLC Pipe Band. However, perhaps the most significant legacy of our Scottish tradition is a belief in educational excellence, combined with a whole-of-person approach to intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development.Source: this is an extract from the company's own website.

What’s it like working at Presbyterian Ladies' College Perth?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Presbyterian Ladies' College Perth appreciate the collaborative and supportive work environment fostered by passionate educators committed to excellence. Management is described as excellent, contributing to a fantastic work environment. There are opportunities for professional development through various learning sessions and interdisciplinary projects. Employees value the relationships built with students and colleagues, as well as the early finish time that allows them to have afternoons free.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as a heavy workload, which is acknowledged as an expectation when working at a prestigious school like PLC. For non-teaching staff, there is a flat structure with limited career opportunities. Some employees feel that the management structure is more complex than necessary, with senior management perceived as being disconnected from ground-level operations. Certain aspects of the work environment, such as hot summer days, rainy winter days, and bureaucratic processes, can be challenging. The environment can be highly stressful and demanding at times. Additionally, some departments, such as Maintenance and Grounds, feel under-resourced in terms of designated storage space and equipment upgrades.

The good thingsThe relationships built with students and some colleagues.
The challengesToo many staff in promotional positions/role structure of school was more complex than it needed to be. Senior management didn't have a clue or care what happened at ground level. High pressure and stressful environment created by head of department. School does not encourage any form of professional development.
