What’s it like working at Queensland Law Society?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Queensland Law Society offers a supportive and collaborative work environment with excellent work-life balance and flexibility. Employees particularly value the modern facilities, including a new office fit-out, and appreciate the professional development opportunities available through mentorship and various learning initiatives. The organisation maintains a strong focus on teamwork and provides interesting project opportunities across various aspects of the legal profession.

However, there are some areas for consideration, including limited internal career progression opportunities and the complexity of operating as both a membership association and regulator. Some employees note that salaries are average or relatively low for certain positions, and there can be challenges in implementing change, particularly with long-term staff adoption of new processes. The organisation's diverse nature can also make it challenging to maintain consistent practices across all departments.

Great Culture, Great Team, Great Work
The good thingsAn amazing place to work with a truly supportive and engaging culture. My team, in particular, makes every day rewarding: collaborative, encouraging, and always faced with interesting, meaningful work. I feel valued, challenged, and excited to go to work everyday. Highly recommend.
The challengesThe nature of the work means internal career progression is tricky, but my team in particular is very supportive when long-term employees want to take the next steps in their careers.

Fulfilling and satisfying legal work and manageable hours / workload.
The good thingsQuality of legal work, no billable hours, great teammates, true work/life balance and flexibility, parental leave policy and brand new office fit out and cafe in the lobby
The challengesNone at the moment but, previously, inexperienced and disinterested team manager. New/current manager is fantastic.
