After 14 relatively good years and personal dedication, I was let go due to after having emergency brain surgery. I was promised a position of some kind when I was healed and cleared to return to work. Sadly I was coerced into agreeing to a casual position while still recovering, then offered no hours or job.(great way to avoid unfair dismissal claim )
In fairness to both GPC & Repco, I enjoyed my time, met some top people and I'm grateful for the opportunity despite the sad exit. The good thingsCustomers were great, some of the staff were good to work with, excellent pier support, learning and growth opportunities
The challengesManagement is ruthless, no overtime pay but plenty of overtime, the store I worked in had no professional cleaners, inadequate lifting equipment, not as inclusive or honest as they pretend to be, questionable ethics at times.
