    horrible.. just horrible
The good thingsabsolutely nothing about this job is enjoyable
The challengesthere is so many things this place needs improving on; from management, work fairness, the way you are treated, store tidiness, the pay you get is severely under, staff size etc.

    Horrible Management
The good thingsThe old manager was fantastic, able to cater to university classes, & family needs! The workplace was so fun & i loved working there.
The challengesThe management at Repco Waurn Ponds is currently terrible. If you enjoy being micromanaged, criticised for doing what you were told to do (then get in trouble for it), then this job is for you.

The good thingsFriendly and helpful staff members.
The challengesAt times, customers expect expert-level mechanical knowledge, which can be a challenging but valuable part of working at Repco.

not bad, depending on which store and manager you get.
The good thingsGood environment, great discounts.
The challengesnew management came in and don't care about employees. Difficult to make a serious complaint to HR. gossiping is outrageous - even the mature crew. pay is MINIMUM wage

Zero stars if I could leave zero
The good thingsThere were some great people but they also down trodden by the business.
The challengesThe organisation and leadership in the GPC business is diabolical. Perpetual issues, poor leadership, poor management of any issues and the majority of store are an absolute mess, especially away from the retail areas. This is a business that want to absolutely pay the least possible amount for anything and will screw you any way they can, be it financially, mentally, physically. Absolutely do not recommend if you are looking for a career.

You won’t work for a better company!
The good thingsI’ve throughly enjoyed the discounts, parties, and gifts. Having worked both in-store and out on the road, I can say Repco has been one of the best companies I have worked for. The support from management is incredible, giving you 100% if you have a clear goal. My colleagues make all the difference, not one day goes by do I wish I was somewhere else.
The challengesThe starting pay leaves much to be desired. In-Store workers are paid award wages, which they say is balanced out by the fact the company gives you impressive discounts and bonuses.

Disappointing ending to an otherwise happy and successful time there.
The good thingsStaff discounts are awesome and broader than just vehicle parts if you know where to look. Their platform that allows collaboration between stores and keeping up with things happening across the business is better than what I’ve seen elsewhere. I had a great time with the majority various people that came and went through my stores over the time.
The challengesThe majority of issues in this company stem from how one’s line manager support them. I had being made an acting store manager during covid with little training or experience dumped on me. But I got through it quite successfully because my one up manager at the time supported me. Even winning a “triple crown” in that time without a store manager, a top award for a Repco store to achieve. Flip that to 2025 well in my role actual store manager. New one up manager wouldn’t respond to requests for help or support from me. Ultimately culminating in my own role being damaged beyond repair. Their people and culture team also leave a little to be desired. From saying they couldn’t help in managing staff members performance, up to failing to respond appropriately to claims of misconduct on more than one occasion. If each of the one up managers support their one downs, you will be successful, like I was for most of my time. If you don’t have their backing though, don’t expect to last.

Don't allow your teenagers to work here for a first time job!!
The good thingsStaff discounts were a benefit
The challengesToxic work environment. Older, experienced staff very rude and disrespectful to new staff. Do NOT work here if it is your first job, will give you a negative experience about realistic work life. Multiple fortnight's where pay got missed, sometimes took a month to rectify!!

Honestly not a great place to work at there should be more benefits for employees. ie bonuses and being appreciated for the work you undertake
The good thingsCustomer Interaction - alot of customers are good to talk to and you get along with quite well.
The challengesPay - below average Work life balance - not great balance shouldn't have to come in earlier because other workers wont help

Don't expect a livable wage working here. Good for high school kids and maybe uni students and that's it!
The good thingsStaff discounts and some of the people you meet along the way.
The challengesThe pathetic pay versus what you are expected to do. The constant backstabbing and politics from the stores I worked at and visited is worse than high school. "we're a team" yet external management and regular staff are so divided they have different rules and can be almost impossible to find some common ground that doesn't benefit them.

Good for weekend casuals, poor company choice for long term or full time work
The good thingsFlexible work hours made it easier to fit in with other aspects of life. Casual staff are often easy to get along with
The challengesPoor store management creating toxic work environments. Toxic cultures often initiated and further encouraged by store managers. No support from upper management, regional managers claim ignorance to staff complaints. Staff grievances are faced with poor excuses or sees the complaintant being forced out or moved on to another store.

Repco toxic work environment My Time at Repco – A Candid Reflection I began working at Repco Albany. While this reflected my strong work ethic and ability to lead under pressure, the overall experience became increasingly difficult due to ongoing internal issues. The store was frequently understaffed, leaving employees stretched thin and often expected to carry the workload of multiple people. Proper breaks were rarely provided, even during long or high-pressure shifts, which impacted both well-being and performance. Despite raising concerns, there was little follow-through or improvement from upper management. Communication from leadership was inconsistent, and decisions were often made without consulting the team on the ground. Support and resources were lacking, making it hard to maintain high standards or deliver the level of service expected. While I’m proud of the effort I put in and the skills I developed, my time at Repco showed me how important fair treatment, support, and a functional team environment are to long-term success—both personally and professionally.

DON'T do it. It's not worth the pain. Even told me what not to put in comments.
The good thingsStaff discounts, meeting some nice people and helping customers getting the right parts/items needed.
The challengesThe toxic environment and B S from staff and management. God, forbid you get seriously sick and need assistant/reassurance when you return to work. Managment not very helpful if you're not in with them.

Stay away if you care about your Mental HealthUsed to be a great company to work for. I enjoyed my job up until I moved up to management. Then the unrealistic expectations were there. It all started during covid and it never recovered. You could have multiple employees off sick and are still expected to achieve the same amount of work load. Mental health is not a concern for any higher managers, the good people are pushed out and the not so good people are left. The whole company is a joke, area managers believe the words of other employees over yours and there is no convincing them otherwise. If you're struggling in management goodluck, you have no support from your higher ups, instead you just get kicked when you're down. I stepped down after maternity leave and was never given another opportunity again when I was ready for management again.. If you're in management it is like you're in highschool.. Unless you're one of the cool kids you get NOTHING from ANYONE. oh, and can't forget the company playing favourites with managers that have been in the company a long time even though they're a horrible person and have a HR record a mile long from all the complaints including your own.. They just take their word over yours.. Any other company and that person would be on a PIP but not Repco.. You take actions into your own hands because HR/higher ups did nothing and then YOU'RE THE ONE put on a PIP. Absolute joke of a company.

After 14 relatively good years and personal dedication, I was let go due to after having emergency brain surgery. I was promised a position of some kind when I was healed and cleared to return to work. Sadly I was coerced into agreeing to a casual position while still recovering, then offered no hours or job.(great way to avoid unfair dismissal claim ) In fairness to both GPC & Repco, I enjoyed my time, met some top people and I'm grateful for the opportunity despite the sad exit.
The good thingsCustomers were great, some of the staff were good to work with, excellent pier support, learning and growth opportunities
The challengesManagement is ruthless, no overtime pay but plenty of overtime, the store I worked in had no professional cleaners, inadequate lifting equipment, not as inclusive or honest as they pretend to be, questionable ethics at times.

Terrible company not worth it, work for staff discount car parts that's it.
The good thingsGood staff discount (75%) great pay for casuals especially on weekends (Saturday = time and a half, Sunday = double time)
The challengesTerrible customers and having to deal with crack head mechanics, eshay co-workers. Worked in 4 different Repco stores in Vic and it was the same problem with all of them with either terrible customers, trades or co-workers. No training at all, you learn everything on the job which is stressful as messing something up causes big problems, all the miserable full time workers that dont want to train you. I would recommend going with Supercheap Auto or Autobarn as they dont deal with trades just retail only which negates 33% of Repco problems.

I would’ve stayed longer at Repco if they paid better or even just kept their promises, but unfortunately they couldn’t do either.
The good thingsGood to get into the parts industry, especially as a casual. Unfortunately that’s about it. Regional managers will promise you further training and development after 6 months and turn that into two years… and so on.
The challengesYou’re paid under a retail award, but you’re running both a trade AND retail store together. Lots more work than other retail competitors.
