Want the opportunity to work for a great business & with an impressive team - SHIEKE is the place.
The good thingsThis is an amazing brand and business with huge potential. I’m excited to be part of the team to bring about this change. Extremely talented team both in head office and stores and I’ve been truly impressed by the passion and dedication.
The challengesEarly days but everyone is eager to improve, evolve and grow. Can’t ask for more than that.

It is a great place to join if you want to be part of a transformational change
The good thingsHaving the accountability to run my boutique, lead the team and motivate them. The great discounts to help support the purchase of the beautiful product. The visionary Head of Retail and where the company wants to go in terms of creating a culture to be an Employer of Choice.
The challengesHigh focus on store KPIs which feel individual, the challenges of the retail environment and competition in fashion for women. Our share of wallet is diminishing and the expectations of a store in terms of VM, operational requirements are increasing, we need better connection with our Support Office teams to create an omni-channel experience.

Would not recommend to work here if you don't want to be treated unfairly
The good thingsThey have nice designs of clothing and good discounts
The challengesNot very fair on rostering shifts, not culturally diverse, constantly making us to purchase clothes that is all our income given.

Toxic work environment and unfair management
    The good thingsStylish, on-trend fashion
The challengesMy experience was far from positive. While the brand may look glamorous from the outside, internally, there were serious issues with management and workplace culture. Decisions often felt unfair and inconsistent, with little transparency or justification. Team members were sometimes subjected to favoritism, while others faced unnecessary criticism. I personally witnessed and experienced instances of intimidation from some management staff, which made the work environment stressful and demoralizing. Despite the potential to grow and contribute, the lack of support, poor communication, and toxic culture made it difficult to thrive. I hope the company takes steps to address these issues, as they are hindering both employee satisfaction and overall productivity.

    It's a paycheck, nothing more.
The good thingsDiscount - 50% off, and up to 60% off from time to time. The girls on my team were lovely.
The challengesCommunication from head office could be improved. Customers ruining clothes with makeup/fake tan. Not enough hours in the day to get tasks done.

Not a good experience at all
The good thingsThe in store staff I worked with The 1 good regional manager
The challengesThe complete lack of respect from certain regional managers. You do not reprimand your staff in a group chat where everyone can see. This happened in mine and someone sent the message around to the entire state. I never received an apology for this happening and was made to feel uncomfortable working with certain people.

    Management needs to change
The good thingsThe clothing and the discount Some friends you make along the way
The challengesUpper management poor and disrespectful No regard for women who genuinely love the brand and want to progress unless they are making money, would rather have young girls working then meeting the customers needs

Working with staff are great but dealing / support from Management are very POOR.
The good thingsI do enjoy my job but management didn’t value and APPRECIATE you as a staff member who make the business running.
The challengesWorking with sheike ain’t difficult. But dealing with Regional manager is difficult unrespect and HR lack of support.

HORRIBLE, TOXIC! The worst company I’ve ever worked for. Stay far away!
The good thingsYou make friends, you get a discount of low quality clothes.
The challengesEverything. Overworked, under appreciated, under paid, pressure filled environment.

Company needs to resolve some issues in regard to treatment of staff, but in-store teams are excellent.
The good thingsIn store manager was incredible and did an excellent job in fostering a great team in store that had regular customers and a strong connection with them and each other - this environment created by our manager made Sheike an excellent place to work. The clothing discount was also a great advantage.
The challengesUnfortunately, higher management will break up strong teams to assist underperforming stores, which is very unfair when you have worked very hard to connect with your team and customers. Higher management typically do not even respond to notices of resignation which is very disrespectful.

Worst company I’ve worked for to date.
The good thingsI cannot describe a single good thing about this company. From management to coworkers it’s just a whole big posse.
The challengesThe entire experience was a challenge in itself. I dreaded every single second of every shift due to the nature of people surrounding me

One of the most toxic work environments I’ve ever worked in. It’s almost like a cult They will make you purchase clothes at a discount, which was great however you had to wear something from the new collection weekly. Near impossible with what the Salary is. You’ll be over worked and unappreciated So disappointed
The good thingsThe Clothes and Styles were wonderful
The challengesManagement and Salary, lack of Staff No perks

In all honestly, I had a great experience just a couple things I would like to see be improved in the future.
The good things50% discount and getting along with some team members. Manager was strong and new how to run her store very well. Great for someone who wants management role and wants to move up. For casuals, I wouldn't recommend starting here as it might feel a little overwhelming.
The challengesMaking sure the whole store is always in size order smallest to large, covering shifts last minute, not enough staff on floor during the week, lots of refunds due to other stores forcing customers to buy things they don't want. When you are missing pay, it takes a very long for them to get back to you even when you are following up every week.

Backward culture which seems to have a non inclusive and a hierarchy which is toxic and judgmental. Polices procedures and OHS not shown or relevant. Standards for equality barely implemented and made to feel inferior
The good thingsThe discount for team members and beautiful products
The challengesInduction and training non existent. Thrown in and expected to just know . When asking questions during training was ignored . The environment and energy is about sales and rules and not about connection with team or customers. Hierarchy where you are not seen as valued or made to feel welcome . No online learning or training nothing to set you up for success

    Incredible place to work
The good thingsSheike is by far the best business I have worked for in terms of leadership and personal development. I feel as though each day I come to work, I evolve into a better version of myself. Store teams are passionate and engaged with a strong collaborative focus. The national team (head office) are constantly seeking feedback on what could be improved across all levels of the business. There are so many empowering leaders within the business who I admire and am grateful to learn from each day. Sheike has a fast-paced and exciting atmosphere with beautiful store fit outs and stunning product to work with. I can honestly say I look forward to coming to work every Monday!
The challengesAdjusting to an honest and transparent style of feedback which I haven’t experienced previously. Management want to identify areas of opportunity and help you grow in your role. You definitely need to be open to personal growth and change working at Sheike.

A business focused on your growth & success
The good thingsMy experience with SHEIKE has been many things... I have experience so much leadership growth in my time here and I will forever be grateful and remember my time with SHEIKE in the years to come. The leaders of this business invest in you as a human with an approach to retail that I have not seen before. The way in which you are challenged as a leader and a business manager really pushes you out of your comfort zone in order help you grow & be better. The environment is engaging and fun working with likeminded people.
The challengesEvery challenge that I have had has been positive. Every role when you are driving your career is challenging. If you are committed to the learnings & development the challenges become your wins!

    Everything that's RIGHT with retail.
The good thingsSupportive and challenging working environment where you have the opportunity to enhance your skills. In store teams are passionate about creating exceptional experiences for customers, and each other, through training, development, feedback and honesty. No question is a silly one and the culture is underpinned by safety, allowing everyone to have a voice. Employees are engaged, motivated and a pleasure to work with. Everyone works hard and collaboratively to achieve the desired outcome. Every day brings something new and exciting from gorgeous new product to internal promotions. A pleasure to be here.
The challengesTrying not to spend my entire salary in store.

I couldn't love this environment of amazing, inspiring woman more.
The good thingsI have found since starting at Sheike 12 months ago that the company are always looking for ways to be open and transparent with all of their employees. They are always asking questions and always available and open to all feedback to help provide an empowering and proactive environment for everyone. I feel as though I have learnt so much in my time here and have never felt more supported in my role from not only the state and regional managers, but also other managers around our state, as well as the national manager. They really try to actively help you grow as a person, as well as a professional. I couldn't love this environment of amazing, inspiring woman more.

Great work environment with great people and amazing clothes to work with!
The good thingsI have absolutely loved working here and I will always be grateful for my experiences in this amazing work environment. Every employee was encouraging of each other and we always worked together in a team. Management was well done and allowed me to balance my social life with my work life in the holidays.
The challengesOnce university and everything started again for 2022, I didn’t have the time to do many shifts anymore so I was struggling to balance everything together.

Poor company culture, lack of support and respect, horrible experience working for them as a retailer.
The good thingsStaff discount on fantastic product range. The product is so amazing itself.
The challengesExtremely poor people Culture, lack of support, private business owner treats employees poorly and there is no care factor, extremely high turnover, low pay, no work life balance you are expected to at the beck and call of the company At all times, no respect even for senior management, no ongoing training or coaching for team, basically they Don’t care about employees at all. It’s on you if you want to work for them.

The good thingsWorking alongside team that are invested in supporting, coaching and developing. Culture and the commitment to continuously work towards a wonderful culture. Laughter and fun is encouraged. Beautiful clothes. Thorough and enjoyable induction process.
The challengesNo challenges in regards to the business. Coming out of COVID lockdown was challenging in regards to customers but the business prepared us with the required coaching.

The challengesI work in a flagship store and so everything is at fast pace, stock everyday, big team- but with the correct support and encouragement from my team they have definately been challenges to work through

    Growth, support and inclusivity
The good thingsBeautiful product and real focus on the well being of staff and customers. Teams are taught to be customer experience focused and to create warm and welcoming environments for customers and team members. While sales are a focus, the leadership team approaches this a little differently. It’s more of a “how can we help you get there” approach. The business itself has come such a long way under new leadership with a lot of open communication and honesty around previous ways of working having not been effective.
The challengesWorking for a business that is so open and transparent can be challenging to get use to. Especially coming from previous businesses who didn’t value honest communication or asking for help.

Really caring, vibrant and supportive team
The good thingsWorking with a very supportive team that actually care about making change, and care about their staff. Feeling like you are part of a team that all work towards the same goal and care about each other's development. Strong focus on improving the customer experience, and putting the customer first. Plus of course you get to work with beautiful product.
The challengesI haven't experienced many challenges in my role! Retail is fast paced and constantly moving so you need to enjoy being busy

A dynamic business that has experienced many changes for the positive, an extremely loyal customer base and amazing product. SHEIKE certainly has come a long way with its leadership teams and certainly shows paths for progression for team now. With new improved product direction and national leadership direction the teams are feeling excited to be a part of the journey.
The good thingsI thoroughly enjoyed working with the senior leadership team, after a few cultural and management changes the team felt empowered and had motivation and direction. The overall team dynamics is excellent.
The challengesSome changes in leadership and management in the past had left some team feeling a little displaced, this disconnect was felt earlier on in my consultancy contract, although I watched really positive change evolve under the new leadership and national management team, more structure and direction came into the management roles which allowed managers to step up into more of a leadership role and allowed them to have a voice that was heard.
