Great people, intensive training and good management, work can be monotonous
The good thingsIntensive training. You are let in gradually to take calls and not thrown in the deep end.
The challengesEvery call is a complaint, sometimes callers are aggressive

The good thingsI did a two week contract with the team. Project briefing and communication were both very helpful and clear. Any questions I had were always answered in a positive and supportive manner.
The challengesI did not have any challenges.

Great pay; however, continually struggling to defend an Ombudsman that makes no difference to Industry practices and unconscionable conduct
The good thingsGood location and simple process driven job once you are trained
The challengesManagement is dysfunctional and consists of lawyers that could not survive in public practice

    Extremely disappointing.
The good thingsNice office near Southern Cross Station. Open plan and sit-stand desks for most people. Rebatable employer packaging.
The challengesAppalling management - don't believe anything. Completely backward and micromanaging. Act like staff are children. Very bad disempowering culture.

    Cultivating, fruitful and positive.
The good thingsThe TIO invests in every one of it's employees/ Truly a place that gives you back every bit that you put in. Management are highly professional and empathetic. The most positive working experience I've ever had.
The challengesMake sure you're clear on what path you are wanting your career to go down. This is an environment for mediators, not aspiring solicitors.

I've never felt so supported and boundless opportunity
The good thingsMy leader was an amazing support and 100% committed to me and my career development. As well as this, I felt there was a culture where I was always safe and encouraged to share my views and opinions on a work matter. There was lots of opportunity to take initiative and to recommend improvements which sit proudly on my cv to this day. In terms of the benefits of my time at the TIO: 1) I was able to work flexibly, which allowed me to spend more time with my kids 2) I had 28 days of annual leave per year 3) As a not-for-profit, I could salary package my rent.
The challengesWorking in complaints means you work based in confrontation with your clients every day. You need to have great resilience - and it's great the TIO was supportive.

The good thingsColleagues are friendly and always willing to help
The challengesEvolving culture has found resistance with some older employees not willing to change, breeding discontent.

The company has more challenges than benefits.
    The good thingsExperienced colleagues.
The challengesManagement didn't know how to manage the strategic plan. All Execs had their own agenda which didn't align to the strategic plan and obstructed positive progress.

Don't apply thinking you'll change the world! This place describes itself to the telco industry as an extension of their customer service departments
The good thingsThe colleagues are what make this workplace. It's a great place to make lasting friendships.
The challengesSecretive and unconsultative senior management that had very little respect for people's expertise. Too much focus on productivity and keeping the industry happy as opposed to keeping the telcos honest.
