Behind a thin veneer of performative gratitude lies the most toxic inept workplace I've ever worked.
The good thingsTo be honest, I don't think the word "good" is appropriate here. One or two colleagues were nice but that's as far as I would go. It's a pity seek won't offer a negative rating. Even one star is being generous.
The challengesPay just above minimum wage. Upper management buries head in sand concerning broken system. HR unwilling to act on unethical behaviour. Non compliance of WHS and overall staff well being. Impossible expectations of staff and negative feedback given in front of co workers. Crude and vulgar graffiti in the workplace and forced to look at it everyday. Communication is absolutely terrible between management and workers. Frustrated customers venting at incompetent sales team who pass it on to those below them. High staff turnover. Lack of respect and transparity. Staff training insufficient.

The most anxiety provoked job I’ve ever had.
The good thingsWorking from home 3 days a week. Their end of year party.
The challengesTheir process on how to seek help. There is lack of support. When requiring assistance you have to use a platform that is visible to your entire department.

Toyota is a company that is stuck in their ways and disconnected from their people. They want to be the number one mobility company in Australia yet only bench mark to 75% pay for their employees. Good for your resume but the company is extremely slow to react and doesn’t live up to their own expectations they place on their franchisees. They need to rethink more than just being a “mobility” company
The good thingsContribution to support the dealer network
The challengesManagement! Processes that do not benefit the company. Terrible pay while travelling, no opportunity to negotiate your pay, micro management, consistently covering multiple roles, political, disconnect between head office and regions. I quote from management “it’s easier to let people go than keep them”. Their benefits have not kept up with the post covid environment and are currently experiencing massive losses in staff.

As in people i like it but as people were good to work with and career progress opportunities but at same time workplace politics, low pay, no benefits, too much corporate behaviour
The good thingsMost if the staff is friendly and enjoy working here
The challengesBelow average pay, too much corporate behaviour, so many rules, work overload(stressed even after working hours) rude customers and you cant even deny service

Stable but boring and bureaucratic. Great place to work when you’re looking to retire.
The good thingsStable job with security and the products are good, mostly reliable and consistent.
The challengesToo much bureaucracy. Management are slow at deciding things and giving good strategic direction. Everything is focused too much on sales. Things take forever to change. It really is living in the past and they’re resting on their laurels. If you like having little autonomy and being micromanaged by passive aggressive bosses you might enjoy working here.

Toyota is a solid product and TMCA was a great company until around 2019 or so.. but unfortunately undone in later times by arrogant egos, complacency and a misdirected overt focus on genuflecting to woke culture.
The good thingsProduct is very strong, and the brand is well respected
The challengesHighly inexperienced middle to senior management running the sales and marketing arm, essentially who are pumped up by woke policies and quotas.

Great company philosophy, lack real management
The good thingsExperience the new models before most people
The challengesNo support from senior management and little care for its people. Wrong people are promoted to management roles as they know how to work the systems, while real intelligent, hard-working people are push and push until they leave the company.

    Aug 2020
7 to 8 years in the role
Great company with deep belief of Toyota Way culture
The good thingsAlways learning, many different projects to work on, colleagues who are ambitious motivated and driven to achieve success, working closely with the dealer network, access to national and international intelligence, always driving new cars, employee discounts, many employee focused provisions eg shopping discounts, subsidised medibank, clothing and merchandise, community grants etc Great internal rotation promotional development pathway to allow you to learn new skills in a new role every few years.
The challenges- Departments who are dealer facing have a very different culture and working pace to those who are non dealer facing - creating a cultural divide. Unfortunately many current managers lack dealer/retail experience and exposure, so lack the x-factor to motivate and inspire teams to lead the dealer network performance. - management are not as passionate and inspirational as they were since Syd/Melb merge. Senior managers Spend too much time hands on micromanaging rather than leading.
