What’s it like working at Toyota?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees appreciate working with a well-respected brand and strong, reliable products that customers value. Many note the positive culture and collaborative, friendly colleagues who create a supportive team environment. The opportunities for learning and growth are valued, with access to different projects and internal rotation pathways for career development. Employee benefits include discounts, subsidised health cover, work-from-home flexibility, and various perks.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as management being inconsistent in some areas, with concerns about micromanagement and slow decision-making. Corporate procedures and approval processes can be lengthy, creating delays in a large organisation. Some staff have mentioned that pay can be below average in certain roles, and the workload can be demanding during busy periods. Communication between departments could be improved, and career progression may be slower in a large company with long-standing employees.

Behind a thin veneer of performative gratitude lies the most toxic inept workplace I've ever worked.
The good thingsTo be honest, I don't think the word "good" is appropriate here. One or two colleagues were nice but that's as far as I would go. It's a pity seek won't offer a negative rating. Even one star is being generous.
The challengesPay just above minimum wage. Upper management buries head in sand concerning broken system. HR unwilling to act on unethical behaviour. Non compliance of WHS and overall staff well being. Impossible expectations of staff and negative feedback given in front of co workers. Crude and vulgar graffiti in the workplace and forced to look at it everyday. Communication is absolutely terrible between management and workers. Frustrated customers venting at incompetent sales team who pass it on to those below them. High staff turnover. Lack of respect and transparity. Staff training insufficient.

The most anxiety provoked job I’ve ever had.
The good thingsWorking from home 3 days a week. Their end of year party.
The challengesTheir process on how to seek help. There is lack of support. When requiring assistance you have to use a platform that is visible to your entire department.
