    TCRO

Avoid Transurban, just stay positive and search for something meaningful.
The good thingsHonestly, there are NO good things that come to mind when I think of my time with Transurban.
The challengesThe culture is terrible, very toxic. If you are not an ex star employee, forget it! 90 percent of TCROs are ex star employees of which have carried their toxic behaviours with them. Training manager is a laugh, just throws you in the pit and actively works against you, does not train you at all.

Avoid unless you don’t have any other optionToo political workplace and lack of career growth. Engineers who work tirelessly are often blamed when things go wrong, while project managers take credit for any success. The engineering team is consistently undervalued, and senior management shows little understanding or recognition of their efforts. Management try to make changes every 1–2 years only add instability. Stay away from this place unless you don’t have other option

    Terrible culture, unethical company
The good thingsOnly good thing is the office space
The challengesVery political culture, most new senior leader out to make money and extremely unethical. Zero appreciation for real work, politics is what it takes to succeed. People would publicly criticise functions like HR in town halls who are frankly around only to stamp unfair policies and practices

I would not recommend this company if you're looking for fair career progression. Dysfunctional leadership at the top with little to no understanding as to how their business operates. They will discard you no matter how hard you work. Lacks empathy for their people.
The good thingsThe business was better when it was led by Scott Charlton.
The challengesD&I was not a strong point for Transurban. Snr Female leaders were aggressive and degrading and lacked accountability for their actions. HR support nonexistent. No career development. No care for their people when restructuring. No respect for their employees.

Mixed experience but must admit had lot of learning opportunities to equip myself with information, knowledge and experience which helped me to progress to a new role outside.
The good thingsAvailability of resources to perform the work - tools, softwares, etc. Automation - high level of automation in any workflow process which eliminates the wait to get something approved when requested. Location, office building and facilities Flexible working Benefits - Leave policy, purchased leave, performance bonus, annual share distribution, share purchase from salary contribution, high focus on health and wellbeing
The challengesLack of well defined process Multiple systems - badly require system consolidation Corporate politics

Worst work culture I’ve ever experienced. Everlasting impact on health.
The good thingsShift work and 5 weeks annual leave.
The challengesAuthoritative helicopter management only focused on empire building and profits. Management oblivious to core functions of the role leaving the public at increase risk. Management plays employees off each other, leading to a toxic environment.

    "Dead Wood" need clearing out
The good thingsModern offices and work life balance.
The challengesA lot of "dead wood", only in senior positions because they've hung around. Entitled, inefficient middle managers blocking the way for younger talent or experienced external hires.

Don't join Transurban and ruin your life and career both
The good thingsGood and skilful people to work with
The challengesToo much workload for all. No work life balance, only boasting. Management is not flexible. Too many security vulnerabilities and tickets to fix. Does not listen to vendor recommendations. Unbelievable effort to make to complete your workloads, so demand a highest pay possible during the interview if you still want to join. Cutting off engineering resources and onboarding automation engineers.

In almost 40 years contracting this was one of the best experiences I had and would love to work for Transurban in the future
The good thingschallenge of managing their first large contract and managing refurbishment design projects with very competent companies. This is also a very clever company for \"inventing\" new opportunities
The challengesMotorway/ toll way maintenance and management is mostly night work hence put up with day/night work should be a challenge but it did not affect me as I can get by with very little sleep for long periods

A company that does not walk the talk they aspire to be.
The good thingsFlexible working, nice office, some teams are really nice to work with and the operational staff are great.
The challengesConstant restructuring instead of analysing and fixing issues correctly. Putting more work on people that are already stretched. Not overly supportive or empathetic. Leadership is not great in certain departments and whilst company values are plastered everywhere they not taken seriously, especially by the leadership team.
