Despicable treatment, Never experienced anything like it.
The good thingsBeautiful caring, genuine workmates, who will be friends forever.
The challengesIncompetent Acting Supervisors. Incompetent former Supervisors (who are so far out of the loop and consistently making critical errors) who can’t let go and give Acting Supervisors a fair go. “We’ve all heard of “The boys club”, Welcome to “The Girls club”. Far too much power……Perhaps should have dug a lot deeper into the Referees they provide. Karma!

    Forget boundaries.
The good thingsLots of lovely and talented people to work with! Some teams very supportive. Some flexible work options.
The challengesThere are no boundaries. Incredibly reactive environment. Everyone doing their absolute best to keep their head above water regardless of job grade. Archaic and hostile IT department is a continuous barrier to productivity.

The best decision I ever made professionally was to retrain and apply at Tweed Shire Council. The continued progression of my professional life has been rewarding.
The good thingsThe work life balance, focus on staff well being and ability to progress and change direction of career with supported training and education.
The challengesIn recent years COVID and flooding has impacted us as an organisation, but also as individuals. The ever changing situation has been a challenge at times. The expectations of some residents is challenging. The fact that people think it is OK to insult staff at times, is also a challenge. However the supports the organisation has put in place to assist staff deal with this are very positive.
