What’s it like working at UniSuper?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees consistently praise the supportive and friendly colleagues at UniSuper, noting that people are genuine, collaborative, and focused on serving members well. The work/life balance is excellent with flexible working hours, and the competitive salary and benefits package, particularly the 17% superannuation contribution, is highly valued. Staff also appreciate the CBD location and pleasant office facilities, as well as the company's genuine focus on member wellbeing.

However, there are some potential challenges, including inconsistencies with management and leadership at various levels, and frequent restructures that can be destabilising. Some employees have found career progression and development opportunities to be limited, with advancement sometimes based on tenure rather than merit. The legacy technology systems can be challenging to work with, and the environment can be busy and fast-paced with high expectations to deliver across multiple priorities. Additionally, some staff have noted that underperformance isn't always actively addressed.

Unisuper IT was a horrible place to work
The good thingsPay is on the high side of all industries Meeting some nice people Able to save the company considerable costs
The challengesAt the time I was there, there were to many cooks in the kitchen from the Technology LT. Everyone had an opinion post fact, no one worked together, there was a separation between internal teams. Backstabbing and the wrong people in leadership positions.

The good thingsNice people, nice office, and facilities Interesting work, great learning
The challengesChallenging work with balancing priorities for multiple project assignments Business stakeholders are high demanding. Contract could be terminated anytime when funding is running out or can be terminated if failing security test exercises within the business.

Good salary, training but constant push for growth/sales pitch to members for advice an issue.
The good thingsHigh performing advice dept, good training, high standards across the dept.
The challengesToo much of a sales pitch for a not for profit fund. Executive team more concerned with establishing their own little fiefdoms than anything else.
