Great place to work while you're young. No work life balance, very insular. Presenteeism a problem.

This business is best if you really love horse racing, otherwise I’d steer clear. It’s definitely not suited to the younger generation who value digital tools and technology. Or anyone who wants to progress in their career, very little opportunity here. Hardly anyone gets a promotion and if they do it’s after 3-5 years in the same role.
The good thingsIn the lead up to and throughout the Melbourne Cup Carnival the business provides lots of perks and support to the Head Office team (free meals, roving massages etc) but for the rest of the year there are no perks or benefits. There is no social culture, no team lunches or Friday arvo drinks.
The challengesThe company is very traditional and does not understand the value and benefits of adopting new technologies and digital tools.
