    Not just a customer service / sales role; this consultant role encompasses a myriad of administration & finance-related duties. Above average conflict resolution skills are a must for your success.
    The good thingsHigher than average rate of pay. 9-5 Mon-Fri only; no weekends / after hours. Supply of a corporate uniform, excluding shoes. Additional perks such as eyewear discounts, gift-cards for performance / loyalty, annual wage increase.
    The challengesThe first 6-12 months is a consultant role is very, very challenging. Regular changes are made to the services / products covered & their payouts; Although consultants are trained in-advance of these changes, it an be difficult to stay a-top of all of every change made, so an exceptional cognitive (and technological) ability is a must for success in the role. Current legislation prohibits health funds from contributing towards the cost of some everyday medical expenses, such as GP / after hours services, MRIs, PET, CT scans, ultrasounds & xrays. Understandably, this infuriates members, and consultants will often cop harsh criticism over these matters; consultants may find it difficult to shoulder this harsh treatment, time & time again.

    Has the potential to be great but is ruined by poor management staff.
    The good thingsGood work-life balance, most customers like you which is unusual in private health insurance. Good progression opportunities if you are located in NSW but not elsewhere.
    The challengesSystems are outdated and slow, top heavy company with lots of executives but front line and entry level positions are under staffed and struggling to maintain rising work loads. Lots of HR/morale issues company wide.
