Too much pressure for a simple job The good thingsThe coworkers are nice and most of the people who work in the company are nice and caring.
The challenges
I joined Yochi when it was a smaller company, and it was a supportive workplace with good staff coverage and a manageable environment. However, as the business has expanded to around 70 stores, the work culture has changed significantly. There is a strong focus on cost-cutting, with minimal staffing on shifts—at times, I’ve had to work alone without any support, making it difficult to even take breaks.
Expectations have increased, with high pressure to perform perfectly, but limited support or understanding. As a casual employee, job security feels low, as shifts can be reduced easily for minor mistakes.
Staff turnover is high, leading to constant rehiring and retraining. Training relies heavily on modules, with very little hands-on guidance, often expecting new staff to learn everything in one short shift.
Frequent random checks and mystery shoppers add further pressure. Overall, the experience has become stressful compared to when I first joined.
