I mentored young people at yourtown, building their digital skills and job readiness.

    Stifling and hypocritical.

The challengesThe mangement at all levels leaves much to be desired.

If you want a safe workplace, this is not it. STAY AWAY.
The good thingsSome of the other counsellors were decent human beings. The actual work itself is amazing, and very rewarding.
The challengesManagement and team leaders are incredibly out of touch with how to actually manage teams. They are unsupportive, some even go as far as to sabotage their team members purposefully and maliciously to get ahead. While there are a couple who are actually great at their job unfortunately this is often overshadowed by the louder toxic ones. They have no care for their employees wellbeing whatsoever.

"Working at yourtown TTW Pialba has been a rewarding journey of personal and professional growth, filled with meaningful connections, impactful youth support, and valuable learning through both challenges and successes."
The good thingsMaking a Real Impact: Helping young people transition into work or further education is incredibly fulfilling. Seeing their growth and confidence build over time is one of the most satisfying parts of the role. Professional Development: The role has offered opportunities to grow professionally, whether through training, mentoring, or taking on new responsibilities that challenge and develop leadership skills.
The challengesEngaging Hard-to-Reach Participants: Some young people face complex barriers and may be disengaged or resistant to support. Finding ways to connect meaningfully and motivate them can be challenging but also deeply important.

Horrible. It started well but over time it felt our site was neglected. Decisions were made with no consideration of staff and implications and that caused high turnover
The good thingsThe pay was good and the concept behind their programs were good
The challengesManagement are out of touch with reality vs expectations. They hire people in management who have never worked with young people. I found they would come up with a concept, go all in without providing a foundation of resources and then program failure is then blamed on ground level staff.

Toxic Leadership Culture & Backhanded Ways to Exit People
The good thingsCohesive and collegial culture amongst the workers ands working peers.
The challengesToxic senior management culture dictated by their unfettered whims, lack of transparency, condoning of their peers poor behaviour, personal issues and emotional imbalances. They will use pressure tactics and other unscrupulous methods to encourage people to leave the organisation. Review their onboarding documents with very very carefully if considering to join and anticipate how they will use it to exploit for their own gain during and after your employment with them.

Do not recommend at all stay clear toxic
The good thingsThe team did the best we can with what little support we had
The challengesNo training provided, expected to do multiple roles when people had enough of the place and finally broke free. If asked for staff as weighed down from so many tasks you were given warning email explaining they will not tolerate this.

I wouldn't recommend this organization due to poor management and leadership
The good thingsMy direct team were amazing, Christmas parties were fun, good resources and access to training
The challengesPoor work culture, a management team that couldn't deal with conflict, good people left whilst the person responsible was protected. A very clicky upper management culture.

    Totally disheartening experience
The good thingsWorking with clients was fantastic
The challengesAttempting funnel jobseekers into work that would achieve the best outcome for the company. Unprofessional conduct by leadership in the local office - treating job seekers as 'dole bludgers'. Working with clients experiencing a range of complex issues in a socially and economically repressed area - with no training. Training provided in admin systems only

This organisation is for employees who are not wishing to work hard to get a 5 star rating. Mediocrity is the key here. High performing managers need not apply
The good thingsRegular salary, convenient locations a good place to work if you wish to kick back
The challengesBeing subcontracted to Max Employment for youth jobactive, incompetent staff who do not understand the jobactive contract and senior management who are too afraid to deal with non performers

Largely positive workplace; good people abound.
The good thingsSome good people, and management do appear to make attempts to foster a positive workplace culture. Good opportunities for networking.
The challengesYou may encounter some bad people, but they are few and far between. It really only matters however, when that bad person is a member of management. It's not a very big organisation, but does carry the red tape of one.

Just watch who you think are your Leaders. They will only watch you fall and not help you at all.
The good thingsWorking with a great DIVERSE team that will always encourage, support, empathize and mentor you to be the greatest. Even when times were hard they always had your back.
The challengesManagement. Always looking at people that are of a different nationality and thinking that they are superior. That they all know each other and are friends outside of work and will not allow people come through that have the drive and the will. They bring people in with a mindset that only challenges the Ethics (non-existent) values. It is truly disheartening and such a sad time to see this company go from being 'OF' value to now just a PROFIT based Organisation.

Whilst I enjoyed the workplace diversity, career development opportunities including internal recruitment for short term acting roles were limited and not well-managed.
