This major gives students the opportunity to study tourism with a sustainability focus. They will graduate with a deep appreciation of the tourism industry with a special focus on sustainably coordinated events and festivals. Graduates of this major will enter the workforce with knowledge of the wider tourism system, policy issues relating to tourism and events, and an appreciation of the nature of socio/cultural, environmental and economic impacts of tourism and events. At Murdoch University the Tourism and Events major provides students with the opportunity to tailor their own discovery of the national and international phenomena of tourism and events management. Successful graduates are qualified to work in a variety of fields in tourism and event management in local, regional, national and international working environments.
