This course is incredibly engaging and informative, covering all aspects of criminology and the justice system. You are offered visits to the prisons and elective units based on your interests and career path. I am now studying a Bachelors of Law at ECU, but this degree was initially very resourceful.

Acceptable content with fantastic lecturers and tutors although perhaps not necessary for employment

The course itself featured literally no practical elements. Everything was by the book - textbooks were rarely referred to and unnecessary. There were many occasions where I didn’t open a mandatory book. I found it to be a terrible learning experience. It’s a paper degree and a waste of time.

It’s very broad which is good because it allows for lots of job opportunities in different areas of work. It is a very hard and full on course but it is very interesting and I do recommend it

The course work effectively outlined current trends and issues impacting Australian communities and justice system. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at ECU, as the staff was always willing to discuss any issues. The opportunity to gain experience in relevant industry through practicum is excellent, in providing a practical understanding and for networking.

The lecturers were very helpful. The exams were hard. I feel the lecturers prepared us well. I was lucky to do the degree when i did as i could do all the units on campus, whereas i understand now nearly all units are available online only.
