Why study this course

This program combines theory and industry-based knowledge with professional skills in the design and production of digital media. It provides a contextual overview of the role of digital media in society, a strong grounding in visual literacy and time-based media and a clear focus on design. These foundations are built on through further study in areas such as the conceptual development and production for online interaction design, screen and non-screen based formats, time-based media, visual effects and motion design. Graduates of this course will be professional practitioners, with broad knowledge in the design and development of digital media content for the communications, production, and entertainment industries. Graduates will be able to analyse issues, apply creative processes, work with others and communicate informed ideas, and apply independent judgement to problems relating to the design, conceptual development and production of digital media. Graduates will be prepared for roles, both locally and internationally, within a diverse range of areas such as web and interactive media development, specialised video and film production such as visual effects and motion graphics design, information visualisation and interface design.
