Why study this course

Environmental change is rapidly altering the world in which we live - its cities and suburbs, regional and rural landscapes, its natural heritage and biodiversity with significant social, economic and political implications. In this degree students learn about the causes of environmental change and develop strategies, policy, and planning skills to effectively manage environmental issues at local, national and global levels. Areas covered in this degree include climate change, resource scarcity, environmental management, population and migration, urban processes, biodiversity, conservation and sustainable development. Graduates are well equipped for careers in environmental policy, planning and consultancy, administration at local and state government levels, media organisations, and teaching and research.

Course was ok. The content didn't really prepare you for the workforce. Having the degree certainly helped in gaining employment, but I did not gain employment within the environmental sector.

The course provides an oversight of the theoretical concepts associated with environmental management, policies and legislation, climate change, modelling methods, adaptive and mitigative changes, and politics and international relations. The course lacks physical / practical experience, one on one with lecturers / tutors and doesn't provide enough real-world experience.
