This program involves the learning of professional physiotherapy knowledge and skills underpinned by the relevant biomedical and behavioural sciences. Physiotherapy is a health profession concerned with the prevention, assessment and treatment of human movement disorders. Clinical problems encountered by the physiotherapist are wide ranging and often challenging, but usually involve musculoskeletal, neurological or cardio-respiratory disorders. Physiotherapists are people with effective interpersonal skills, including communicative and empathic abilities, highly developed problem solving skills, proficient manual handling skills and motivation to continually improve and learn. Orthopaedics, intensive care, paediatrics, women's health, geriatrics, stroke recovery and occupational health are domains in which physiotherapists can pursue professional practice.

Amazing course, ability to include graded honours in the 4 years was beneficial to reducing overall study time and being able to come out as an internationally published author of a systematic review. This has assisted with job opportunities and increased rates of pay.

The teaching staff were readily available during semester times. Everything was easily accessible on campus. Minimal support for 4th year students with understanding job prospects and requirements for employment in private vs public sector

The Speech Pathology specific course work was excellent and the teachers were very supportive, helpful and encouraging. However the other coursework which were required to be taken was not always the best quality of teaching and sometimes did not match with the degree. The placements given however were some of the best which I have seen for a Speech Pathology program having spoken to others from different universities taking into account a wide range of the Speech Pathology range of practice.

Overall the course is very well put together and provides thorough academic content on the variability of scope within occupational therapy. UoN is highly regarded in comparison to other Universities offering the same degree and the practical opportunities are fantastic!
