The course content itself was excellent, and I admired the way they adapted to having to teach remotely in 2020. However, the teaching staff changed partway through the degree, and who we were taught by in the middle was not a good teacher. When it switched back to the original teaching staff, the teaching became good again, but there wasn't much to help us with the fact we'd done the middle year of our course with poor teaching. The nature of this course is very much to have high contact hours, with little flexibility to differing needs unless you choose to drop back to part time. Support from the university is difficult to get, often requiring a significant amount of documentation. Other university staff that support the learning in this course were for the most part excellent to work with and extremely helpful. The venues at the university were of a high quality enabling us to perform practical tasks to enhance our learning. Throughout my time there, only one venue presented significant technical issues, and QUT staff did their best to help us through these to use the venue to its full potential. Overall, it was a good course, but not without its issues. Some of these were not the fault of the university, and some were. I would recommend the course, just be prepared for high contact hours and having to firmly establish boundaries with other students as to what those hours are for you.
