I think the degree is a decent choice specifically for those going into economics, however the practical side of the degree was very lacking. Most of the degree was purely theoretical, with none of the practical parts of the degree going into enough depth to feel useful after graduating. I also had some issues with how single-minded a number of the economics courses were, with several units that didn't feel useful in reality, as their theories were unusable outside of a vacuum with very specific circumstances. There were a couple of units that went into management or some basic accounting but they were very baseline. If you are unsure of whether you want to work specifically in economics, I would recommend going for a business or accounting degree instead.

I started my degree at ANU and really felt like just another number. I then transferred to UC and became a person. The academics knew me and supported me. They made learning enjoyable and also made sure we understood the subject matter. I feel as though this uni is all about students and not money.
