Project Officers plan and coordinate project activities, including scheduling, reporting and document control. Project Officers play a support role to Project Managers and Project Administrators.

- Collating budget and expenditure data.

- Coordinating project activities.
- Collating contracts, timesheets and reports.
- Drafting presentations and formatting documents.
- Supporting senior team members with administrative functions.
- Facilitating project communications.
Project Officers may be employed across a broad range of industries, including construction, engineering, communications and technology, event management and with the public sector.
How to become a Project Officer
You can become a Project Officer without formal qualifications, however employers may prefer candidates with a relevant qualification.
- 1.Complete a tertiary qualification in project management or a related field. This could be a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice (BSB40920), Diploma of Project Management (BSB50820) or Bachelor of Business.
- 2.Consider completing an industry-recognised certification, such as the Project Management Professional certification. Certification shows employers your skills are broad and up to date.
- 3.After gaining experience as a Project Coordinator, consider developing your managerial skills and moving into a Project Manager role.
