How to become a Scrum Master


SEEK Learning
While you don’t need any formal qualifications to become a Scrum Master, it is important to gain relevant work experience and a recognised certification. Many employers prefer candidates with a bachelor degree.

  1. Complete a relevant qualification such as a bachelor degree in business, IT or a related field.
  2. Gain relevant work experience. You may choose to initially work as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst or any role that coordinates projects.
  3. Complete certified training in agile delivery, such as the Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Scrum certification courses give you the skills to lead an effective agile team.
