What’s it like working at Australian Turf Club?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Australian Turf Club offers a predominantly positive work environment characterised by friendly staff and professional atmosphere. Employees appreciate the generous benefits including paid breaks, free meals, and on-site parking. The company demonstrates a commitment to diversity and inclusion, while providing good training opportunities, particularly for those beginning their careers in customer service.

However, there are some areas for improvement, including the need for better communication between departments and more consistent direction from management. Ok for extra $$
The good thingsFree parking, transport close by. Paid lunch break, staff lockers. Good for extra pocket money
The challengesTend to play favourites, a lot of newer staff get a lot of the shifts compared to the older ones. Language barrier with some as they are from overseas and on visas.

    Warning. Stay away
The good thingsThey do pay market salaries
The challengesA lot of beaurocracy and leadership team who are grand thinkers but don’t understand the execution needed to achieve that. I hated working here. There is a lot of talk of change and no actual change occurring. It’s a delaying tactic. Terrible management - toxic positivity at its best. As a Graphic Designer do not come to work here unless you’re desperate and need a platform. Many other people in other departments are happy. Working as a designer is a nightmare. Extremely inexperienced team, very junior and as a result you will be piled on with work. They don’t know or care how long tasks take. Just get it done.

Excellent work culture and platform to develop professionally
The good thingsIt was easy to get comfortable in the workplace because of the friendly staff. Working at ATC helped me to develop my skills in professionally communicating with guests and problem-solving through guiding guests and answering enquiries
The challengesI am getting used to the formality. ATC is very professional; however, after learning from my coworkers, I was able to present myself to a high standard. Also, accepting the mental toll as you witness guests spending their income on betting/gambling
