We started this business because – even back in the year 2000 – we believed there was a better way for companies to deliver successful construction and engineering projects. At the time, construction was one of the few industries that still relied on paper. Each project generated a massive amount of it – correspondence and documents that needed to be distributed to dispersed teams, quickly and in a controlled manner.Aconex is now the most widely used online collaboration platform in the world for construction, infrastructure, energy and resources projects. We've helped manage more than US$1 trillion in capital projects across 70 countries.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

What’s it like working at Aconex?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Aconex appreciate the great people, fun and inclusive culture, and opportunities for socialising and participating in activities. The company offers fantastic work-life balance with flexibility to work from home. Aconex has great engineering practices, current technologies, and some of the best software engineers in Melbourne. Employees value the opportunities for learning, diversifying skillsets, and chances for international travel.

However, there are some potential areas for improvement, such as communication and alignment between business units, as well as challenges with management in certain regions. The company is working to modernise legacy systems and technology debt. The acquisition by Oracle and rapid growth has led to some organisational changes that employees are adjusting to. Additionally, some feel that career progression opportunities could be limited based on role type.

    Fun but flawed by management.
The good thingsAn intelligent, fun and interesting bunch of people to work with, and a strong desire, when they hire, of keeping that. Acquisition by Oracle is a game changer.
The challengesVast tech-debt. Poor decision making and communications arise from the struggles between the mind of a startup in the body of a publicly listed multinational. Acquisition by Oracle will add to the tumult.
