Australia for UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner in Australia, raising awareness and funds to support UNHCR’s global emergency response to humanitarian crises. It achieves this through the generosity of Australian individual donors, trusts, foundations and other organisations who donate to and partner with Australia for UNHCR to support its goals. These contributions from Australian individuals and groups lead to direct impact on the ground during humanitarian crises, helping UNHCR deliver emergency support such as shelter, protection, clean water, food and medicines. As well as supporting UNHCR’s emergency response, Australia for UNHCR also empowers Australians to directly fund projects that support longer-term care such as building schools, running livelihood programs and providing healthcare.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

What’s it like working at Australia for UNHCR?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Australia for UNHCR appreciate the supportive environment where they are treated like family, as well as the meaningful nature of the work helping others and advocating for refugees. The diverse and multicultural work environment is also highlighted as a positive aspect, along with the opportunity to travel around Australia for some roles.

However, there are some potential challenges noted, such as potential issues with management, particularly with higher management in Sydney, and room for improvement in employee-employer communication. Meeting performance targets and fundraising goals can also be demanding, and employees need to be prepared for approaching potential donors and handling objections as part of their customer-facing roles.

Highly not recommended. Once again A4U is using UNHCR's name to attract donors.
The good thingsThe only good things about Australia for UNHCR is the name.
The challengesThe challenge is the management. The management has no real blue print for working and operations. There is no genuine employee and employer communication. A lot of troubles with the higher management in Sydney.
