Great job if you enjoys sales, high targets and working towards career progression. Not the job for you if you require work life balance and RDO’s. Part time is 5 days a week M - F and there is no movement on this. RDO’s are not an option either. Difficult to get leave - required to pick from 3 different periods provided to you. Culture can be good dependant on the branch
The good thingsDepending on the branch, the culture can be great.
The challengesCold calling. Constantly. Cold. Calling. Haven’t met targets? Cold call. Don’t have anything to do? Cold call. KPI’s can be quite high, especially in branches that don’t have a lot of foot trafffic. Felt like more sales rather than helping.

Would never work for a bank again.
The good thingsThe pay, the customers, location. No weekends.
The challengesThe targets lots cold calling. Just a number since Westpac took over. Do not care for the customers. Annual leave was ridiculous as the bank dictated to you. Reliving at other branches.

Okay role, not suited if you want to progress quickly.
The good thingsThe role offered a good test of my character and with that I have been able to develop a lot of my skills. A lot of the people you meet also make for good colleagues, even friends.
The challengesIt feels no matter what you do, and how successful the stats may show. It’s not good enough. You’ll be targeted more if those high levels slip and targeted if you are not willing to roll over for certain people.

Soul destroying. Can never do enough.
    The good thingsHonestly...nothing.
The challengesThe culture...if you could call it that. Constant pressure to be better, do more...miserable colleagues. Dreadful customers. Zero reason to want to be there.

Unrealistic sales targets, if you work in a branch with minimal foot traffic they rely on cold-calling. Management have no professional standards, poor people skills. Not a sustainable work culture. They can be extremely two-faced and untrustworthy
The good thingshours of work and nothing else
    The challengesPoor, your, uneducated management

Don’t work for a bank unless you want to be stressed and workload under pressure. Although they pay well - your mental health is worth more
The good things- Some autonomy in Role - Banks pay well
The challenges- unrealistic workload & timeframes - antiquated Systems - Management don’t listen

What was once a great place to work, has evolved in the last few years, to a toxic place where people are no longer valued as highly as management’s results.
The good thingsCan’t honestly think of a positive.
The challengesManagement, lack of training and support, covering the large staff turnover and subsequent gaps.

    Horrible place to work
The good thingsYou get discounted banking
The challengesThey don't care about their staff. Management will do anything to keep hitting their KPI's even if it means throwing staff under the bus or to push products people don't need. Bad management is encouraged instead of nurturing staff.

It's not an ideal working environment unless you are a Sales person because it's all about SALES and TARGETS and it's about profit before staff or customers in that respect. This organisation is not a lean organisation, it's definitely Top Heavy in terms
The good thingsGreat work colleagues, some interesting customers to meet.
The challengesIt's just another RETAIL business, only care about targets and profits for the shareholders, therefore the targets they set are just ridiculous.

Not an enjoyable experience, management priorities are completely off-target.
The good thingsIf your team have good chemistry it makes things easy, employee benefits are encouraging.
The challengesUnrealistic sales targets, if you work in a branch with minimal foot traffic they rely on cold-calling. BankSA's values are Sales > People. Management have no professional standards, poor people skills. Not a sustainable work culture. They can be extremely two-faced, metaphorically speaking.

I got sick of being used and under appreciated so I resigned.
The good thingsDecent hours. Customer contact
The challengesManagement were never happy with our efforts. Always wanting more from us. It was always sell, sell, sell regardless of the impact on staff and customers. Then they introduced bonuses for new products. Even though the front office staff asked the customer if they were interested in a loan, insurance, super, financial services etc, the back office staff got the bonus as they set up the service. We were literally handing them our bonus.

Overall it is ok. If you work with a good boss then its not a bad place to work for. Career development opportunities are below average, unless you know people in management its hard to get promoted.
The good thingsthe environment and people I worked with are easy going and friendly.
The challengesunrealistic target and long hours. outdated systems.

Managers are not people oritentated at all, you will be treated unfairly and bad, the sales expectations are too high and everything is the end of the world with them.
The good thingsGreat discounts and benefits for shopping and loans
The challengesManagement has no idea and isn’t trained in dealing with people. They are NOT people persons. Have worked at nearly all the branches and it’s the same thing 98% of the time. The best sales people move into the managerial roles not the best managers.
