BTLawyers is a fast growing Brisbane law firm of bold, balanced and brilliant thinkers. Our clients tell us that they know we’re always in their corner. And we are – we genuinely always have their best interests at heart, because we’re passionate about what we do. We like to think adventurously but act carefully, always striving to get our clients the best outcome possible while delivering real value for money. To us, being a leader is more than just a buzzword. In 2016, we were proud to be named by Doyles Guide as one of only two Tier 1 Workers Compensation (defendant) Law Firms in Queensland.BTLawyers was started by Bruce Thomas in 2002. Having worked in big law firms, Bruce knew there was an opportunity to deliver a different, more personal experience for his clients – an experience based on trust, creative thinking, and a fixed fee pricing model to give clients peace of mind when it comes to their legal spend. So he left the big firms and started out on his own, specialising in insurance and workers’ compensation law.15 years on, our insurance and workers compensation business has been expanded to encompass workplace and family law, business disputes, and debt recovery. Our reach now goes well beyond Queensland to clients based in all states of Australia, with some of the most complex legal issues. We act for many of Australia’s leading businesses in industry groups including retail, transport and logistics, manufacturing, property, agriculture, tourism, health and aged care, financial services and insurance.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

    AI summary of recent reviews

BTLawyers offers a positive work environment characterised by a supportive team culture and strong emphasis on career development. The firm demonstrates commitment to staff growth through internal promotions and career guidance, while also offering flexible working arrangements that accommodate various needs, particularly for studying employees.

However, employees note some challenges including maintaining work-life balance during busy periods and adapting to high performance expectations. The firm's specialisation in insurance law may limit exposure to other practice areas, and some employees have noted that the fast-paced environment requires consistent high-level performance.

If you want career progression, this is the place.
The good thingsThe great thing about BTL is their ability to create roles where they are needed and promote internally. You are always provided every opportunity to progress and succeed in any role. Management trust and encourage staff to \"do more and be more\" in a supportive friendly environment.
The challengesYou have to be self motivated and driven and provide 100% of yourself, 100% of the time. Everyone has off days and this can sometimes be a challenge juggling demanding work loads.
