What’s it like working at Calendar Club?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees appreciate the opportunity to interact with customers and help them find calendars they love. Store licensees particularly enjoy the experience of running their own business with excellent support from head office and management, without requiring upfront investment. The role provides valuable retail experience and customer service skills development, with good financial rewards for those who follow the systems and sales techniques. Many enjoy the energetic, fast-paced environment of working in shopping centres during the busy Christmas period.

However, there are some practical considerations, such as the long shopping centre hours during extended Christmas trading, which can be physically demanding. Meeting sales budgets can require effort and commitment, with targets based on previous years' performance. Setting up and packing up stores during bump in and bump out periods can be challenging. Some employees have suggested that initial training and processes around staff hiring could be strengthened. Additionally, managing stock requires good organisation due to high sales volumes and the need to constantly replenish inventory.

    Very difficult and stressful.
The good thingsI enjoyed the sales experience.
The challengesThe management was poor and made my experience very difficult. For my first shift, I received 20 minutes of training, and had to run the entire stall by myself, and close without any assistance or proper training. It was incredibly stressful and I would not recommend working here unless you already have lots of retail experience.

Working with Calendar Club in 2024Working with Calendar Club in 2024 (we did it at Westfield Kotara-Newcastle) has been an incredible experience. It was our first time running a store. From day one, the team at Calendar Club provided exceptional support, ensuring we had all the tools and resources we needed to succeed. Having our store licensee was a dream come true, and Calendar Club made the entire experience smooth and rewarding. The training, the operational support, and the guidance we received gave us confidence as first-time store owners. It’s been amazing to see the business grow and to be part of such a well-established brand. We are grateful for the opportunity and excited about the future as we continue our journey with Calendar Club...Rohana and Dulani
