What’s it like working at City of Salisbury?

    AI summary of recent reviews

The modern office facilities are highly regarded, with the beautiful building, ample car parking and professional environment receiving positive feedback. Many value the opportunity to contribute to projects that positively impact the community, finding this aspect particularly rewarding. A great place to work and offers a lot of diversity and support
The good thingsThe diversity of work and the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly and positively impact the community are particularly rewarding. The people are supportive and approachable and generally always willing to offer assistance when needed. If you try you absolute best, its a great place to work.
The challengesThere are always opportunities to continue improving communication and streamlining processes across the different teams. Enhancing clarity around priorities and workflows could make things even more efficient. That said, the overall environment is very positive and supportive.

Great, supportive team, who is always happy to help
The good thingsFriendly workplace, everyone has been super helpful and supportive whilst I settle into my new role
The challengesSystems, being new to Council, learning the new systems and understanding why certain systems are used. Knowing who does what when it comes to where queries are to be directed to, have gone around in circles a few times.

*RUN* I don't know how they can continue to operate like this!!!
The good thingsBeing employed, free parking, my WFH day.
The challengesIn my 48 years in the workforce never have I been treated so poorly! This place needs rubbing out and drawing again. So many miserable faces, clicky snigering groups, nasty arguments caused by team leaders with inflated egos driven to feel superior especially towards new staff, lots of tears, and pompous arrogance is the norm. Very unproductive environment, no individual development plans (only promised) no support from leadership even when issues about not feeling safe at work are raised. Not getting a paid break (not even 15 minutes). Only 1 day a week WFH if your lucky & only for full timers, wfh is very frowned upon here. Not valued, trusted or respected. I have 2 Degrees with a long working history I am very proud of, known for my outstanding work ethic and friendly personality, none of which was recognised in this rotten culture, this place has broken my soul & wrung me out. Not how I wanted to finish working life, would have had another 5 years left in me if I worked elsewhere.
