Working at Coral Expeditions offers unique opportunities to work with excellent crew members while experiencing amazing destinations including the Great Barrier Reef. Employees appreciate the chance to interact with guests and gain experience in public speaking and presentations.

Employment is not recommended if seeking a stable/professional but above an ethical environment.
The good thingsNice people on board.
The challengesI advise prospective candidates to exercise extreme caution before pursuing a role with this organization across any department (Hotel, Maritime, or Corporate). My experience with the shore-based leadership was characterized by a profound lack of professionalism, transparency, and reliability. Centralized and Reactive Decision-Making The organization suffers from a highly reactive management style (patch it, keep it quiet and move on) . Critical rules and operational decisions are made arbitrarily by a small circle of individuals (unqualified) rather than through strategic planning or established industry frameworks creating a volatile environment. Turnover rates are well above industry averages. This "revolving door" affects shipboard and office-based teams, leading to a constant loss of institutional knowledge breakdown in operational consistency, low morale and poor culture. Extremely toxic culture by management

Would not recommend to anyone. Worst experience
The good thingsMost of the crew were amazing
The challengesUpper management were horrid. Ignored issues and complaints, money was not worth the stress and anxiety. Seemed like no one knew what was going on. Huge turn over on galley staff,

No employee investment, no company culture
The good thingsThe opportunity to push myself outside my comfort zone through public speaking and presentations
The challengesTerrible company culture or rather, no culture at all. Weekly meetings were silent because everyone was too afraid to speak up in case management didn’t like what they heard. There’s no real training or support. I worked remotely, and my manager only joined me on an in person sales call once in over a year. Management constantly needed to be “right” and would ask for feedback but then make excuses for why things were done their way. They promised opportunities to experience expeditions, yet after 14 months I never once set foot on a ship, even though I was in field sales. Decisions were made based on personal opinions rather than data or sound reasoning. There’s no focus on upskilling or professional development. I didn’t gain anything new in terms of sales skills. The structure is confusing, with constant crossover between roles and no clear accountability. Overall, it’s a toxic, schoolyard-style environment led by unqualified management.
