What’s it like working at Freedom Fuels?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Freedom Fuels appreciated the supportive colleagues they worked with, as well as the customer service aspect of their roles and the staff discounts on fuel and in-store purchases. Some also felt that the company offered a good work-life balance.

However, there were several potential challenges noted, including issues with management such as lack of support, poor leadership, and unrealistic expectations. Training and procedures were often seen as insufficient or outdated, leading to inconsistencies across stores. Many employees reported heavy workloads and understaffing, with high staff turnover being a challenge. Safety and security concerns were raised, such as lack of secure counter areas and dealing with aggressive customers. Additionally, lack of resources and maintenance of equipment could impact employees' ability to do their jobs effectively.

Better than the competition but overall still bad
The good thingsAs a staff member you get 10% off in store purchases and 10cents a litre off of fuel. Policies and procedures are very easy to understand. Better than the other major competitors to work for. Some customers made it pleasant to work there.
The challengesUnrealistic expectations set by management. Long and extreme hours worked. 100+ hours a fortnight. Disorganised management. Most managers have no clue what they’re doing or how to manage. Lack of compassion and empathy. Agressive and violent customers. Most managers don’t seem to follow policies and procedures or care about employees wellbeing. Managers don’t understand the concept of working as a team. Managers are hypercritical and condescending.

    Avoid this employer
The good thingsI enjoyed working with some of the other staff, and the customer interactions.
The challengesManagement left a lot to be desired. YOu are treated just as a number. The training in most areas is insufficient. They are short staffed and have a high turnover rate.
