Working as a Centre Manager for G8 Education gives me a sense of accomplishment.
The good thingsI have worked at this centre for 25yrs. I started as a student, became an educator then had the opportunity to become a Centre Manager. I continue to work as a centre manager because I really enjoy my role. I have achieved exceeding twice with my team and continue to strive towards being a service that is safe, caring and honest/respectful towards children and their families. We have a great community and culture and G8Education are a very supportive company to work for. They allow us to learn and further develop our leadership skills. Head office are always there to help and guide us. I continue to remain with this company for many more years.
The challengesWith every company there is pressure. Working with children is very challenging however G8 Education are always on top of policies and procedures. They will also provide us with training to upskill our knowledge.

Getting to work for the largest ASX listed company on the Gold Coast is a true pleasure.
The good thingsThe team are wonderful. It's a fast paced environment, where we're always trying something new and exciting. There are some good benefits, particularly if you have a child in care.
The challengesThere's not been anything particularly challenging that I haven't experienced in every other corporate environment.

A very chaotic place don’t recommend it
The good thingsNothing to be honest
The challengesThe load of paperwork and expectations from the head office just make staff job oriented. They don’t care about the value of their staff. Too many trainees and they are not mentored properly by senior staff as everyone is just busy with all the jobs on their hands.

Adelaide SA 500019 to 20 years in the role, former employee
I cared and gave too much for nothing in return. After 19 years, no thanks, just hostility.
The good thingsThe support from colleagues who I consider friends. The smiling faces of the children and watching them grow and develop.
The challengesA genuine chance to be heard when faced with toxicity, and lack of support from your 1 up. Unfortunately when you are just an educator or just a CM, a business partner, RM, or ER will believe the ones above you. Grievances to above went ignored, unanswered. Accusations of not advocating for the company, no recognition of 19 years of service, no desire to investigate my concerns told me I cared for the company than they cared for me. G8 lost a dedicated employee. An employee with integrity, worked in own time on the weekends and after hours. Whose core values went above and beyond. G8 care more about whats in their own pocket than trying to retain employees. We are really just a number. Unfortunately so are families and the children.

Not so much Center g8 in general !!
The good thingsMeeting very few passionate educators
The challengesManagement competency Supervision Zero ability to progress in carer … Empty promises $$ spent where needed to ensure health and safety of children staff and visitors..vs other . Price increase ( despite having inviting resources for children to actually feel welcomed) staff use their own pockets resources equal less incidents as children are adequately provided with experiences and things to do

Only if its the last job on earth should you consider working for G8. Money is their only focus.
The good thingsUnfortunately not alot. Like others have stated. There are NO benefits working here other than the relationships formed with the children and families.
The challengesCentre Manager should work on her interpersonal skills and communication. This last year has been awlful. Inexperienced, toxic, speaks ill of the company and children in care. Complaints to higher management went unanswered.

So many employees leaving, I regret the time I put into this company.
The good thingsWhat i enjoyed is strengthening my knowledge around early education, and the relationship formed.
The challengesChallenges are meeting my own philosophies around child safety and providing quality care on stingy budgets. The company’s focus is purely profit at the cost of childrens resources, maintenance and educators mental health.

Challenging at times, but deeply fulfilling and full of learning.
The good thingsOne of the best parts of my role is working alongside such a passionate and supportive team. I love collaborating with educators, helping them reach their goals, and celebrating our achievements together. The sense of teamwork and community within the centre makes every day enjoyable.
The challengesThere are definitely challenges in juggling multiple responsibilities and ensuring everyone feels supported, but those moments have also been the biggest opportunities for me to growth.

Unfortunately a company that takes & takes. Their number 1 priority is profit, & personal bonuses
The good thingsMy connections with new faces.
The challengesEverything, .... I acknowledge g8 is for profit but, just wow. I ignored the many verbal warnings to not bother but I figured people were exaggerating. My philosophies around child safety and quality care differ to that of the company despite what they claim. My Area Manager could also do with some confidentiality training. Business partners and upper management need to reflect on their communication style and interpersonal skills.Yelling at others because budgets are not being met isnt professional. Hopefully the company takes a moment to reflect on why people are leaving. This isn’t about being disgruntled it’s about wanting things to improve.
