The inappropriate behaviour, lies and intimidation from upper level staff is incredible.
The good thingsNot much. The positive remarks here are false, provided by Management and are the problem.
The challengesUpper management have no idea how to manage people or the organiosation. Councillors are useless and do not do anything about it. Don't work here.

    Reactionary leadership
The good thingsThe camaraderie amongst like level staff.
The challengesFeels like we’re drifting without clear direction. There don’t seem to be any consistent goals or strategy, and decisions from above often feel reactive and confusing. The recent restructure left a lot of people feeling unsettled and disappointed.

Can spin a great PD, but the follow through leaves everything to be desired.
The good thingsThe fellow officers, at that level there was engagement, support and mutual respect. The officers work so hard and achieve some amazing results! Working with community was also a highlight - that is only if I was permitted to.
The challengesTeam leaders, Coordinators, and management all acting under what they call "leadership". It's clear this organization has a very outdated and archaic model of leadership that is not sustainable in this new working world. Inconsistent messaging around the directives or tasks and at times outright lies which were reframed as "pivots". Little to no attention around the induction or support into the role, nor was there any care around my progression in the role. Poor skillset in identifying underperformance, managing performance and there is quite clearly a defensiveness/protection when accountability (a professed value of the organization) is called in to question.
