What’s it like working at Medical Edge Australia?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Medical Edge Australia value the supportive clinical team and the friendships amongst colleagues, noting that staff work well together to get the job done. The varied work and event work provide valuable experience, particularly at large events, and staff appreciate the clients they care for. The working environment and facilities are also noted as positive aspects of the role.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management being disconnected from staff on the ground, leading to communication issues and misinformation about upcoming work. Several employees have indicated that the workplace culture has shifted in recent years, with concerns about staff wellbeing not being adequately prioritised. Some staff have also mentioned challenges with shift allocation and the need for established relationships to secure work, as well as parking limitations for company cars, though additional facilities are planned for Perth.

    Do not recommend working here
The good thingsVaried work, great supportive clinical team
The challengesWas once a great place to work with amazing opportunities and a supportive friendly and postive environment. Sadly in the last few years it has become a highly toxic place to work where speaking up on issues has led to staff members being subjected to unfair treatment such a reduction in the allocation of shifts, gaslighting and general poor treatment with no regard at all to mental health or wellbeing. This has led to many being forced to leave. Do not recommend.

Do not work here if you value your mental health.
The good thingsThe event work and friendships amongst clinical staff. Big events, great for experience.
The challengesSingle handedly the most toxic workplace culture I have ever experienced. Management are extremely rude, inappropriate and do not care about their staff at all. From the top down, the attitude towards staff was inexcusable. Many staff members have left after the treatment they were subject to. Placed into circumstances you feel uncomfortable in, voicing your concerns, only to be not so politely "instructed" to do as told. I was not treated as a human, I was treated as a number. Truly horrific experience.

Glad to be with MEA. I volunteered with another ambulance company before and I can say the other one did not have the same environment. MEA staff generally like their jobs.
The good thingsNice working environment. Great teammates at work. Nice crib room and facilities
The challengesParking for company cars, althought we are getting 2 more warehouses in Perth in the near future.
