What’s it like working at Morningstar?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Morningstar distinguishes itself through its collaborative culture and ethical approach to financial services. Employees appreciate working alongside talented colleagues and value the supportive leadership, particularly at the local level. The company offers international mobility opportunities across its global offices, allowing staff to gain diverse experiences and perspectives.

However, some employees in the ANZ offices note challenges regarding career advancement opportunities and below-market compensation. The company faces typical challenges of a global organisation, including managing the balance between global and local needs, and there are opportunities to improve legacy systems and employee productivity tools.

I should have left years earlier.
    The good thingsFriendships and facilities
The challengesVery limited opportunity to grow and progress in ANZ offices. Below industry remuneration. No salary increase in high inflation environment. Redundancies using restructure or outsourcing to an overseas Morningstar office as a reason or excuse (but in fact responsibilities remain and rehiring under a different job title and reporting line). Lack of documentations and process improvement in some business lines. Some employees unwilling to share knowledge for fear of redundancies. Growth by acquisitions - difficulty to integrate cultures. Woman leaders seldom stay long. Minimal effort in retaining talent.
