What’s it like working at Nurse Next Door?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Nurse Next Door appreciate working with wonderful and respectful clients, and value the friendly, caring colleagues with whom they often form meaningful friendships. Many note that management is supportive and approachable, genuinely invested in staff wellbeing and professional development. The company's values around making lives better and creating a people-first culture resonate with employees, as does the flexibility in scheduling that helps balance university and family commitments.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. Communication regarding shift changes, rostering and feedback could be improved in some locations. Hours can fluctuate, with some employees experiencing reduced shifts or last-minute changes, particularly during growth periods. Experiences with management vary by location, with some reporting excellent support whilst others note challenges. During rapid growth, workload can be demanding, requiring flexibility and additional hours. Some employees feel that pay rates and casual loading could be more competitive, and a few have suggested that training and onboarding could be more comprehensive.

The challengesThe challenges of staff that shouldn’t work in the community, who would probably do better in a facility

Avoid if you can, professionally not an idea place to work currently.
The good thingsThe friendships I’ve made with staff I worked here with.
The challengesManagement - Passive aggressive behaviour, silent treatment, asked for us to be autonomous in our role but very evident micromanagement behaviours in return. Lack of direct communication even when you directly asked if there was something you could improve upon. There’s a big emphasis on ‘positivity’ in the company as a whole, however this is absolutely not displayed behind closed doors by Management.
