What’s it like working at Point Hotel?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at The Point Brisbane appreciate the empowerment given to Duty Managers, the family-like culture fostered by the big boss, and the hotel's great product and good people. They value the reasonable management, regular feedback, fantastic work-life balance, amazing customers, supportive management, opportunities for training and development, and employee benefits such as free parking.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as limited parking capacity during busy periods, a very quiet restaurant, concerns about an unhealthy work environment and lack of understanding for personal lives, tight staffing levels at times, limited career progression opportunities as an independent property, a perceived lack of diversity in management, a sense that management is out of touch with operations, the hotel being quite busy and challenging during peak times, and periods when the hotel is a little quiet.

Probably a great place to work if you don't do the dinner service.
The good thingsThey have a great product although it seems somewhat let-down by the location. Some good people working there, it's just a very little known place.
The challengesF&B component of the venue is very quiet (restaurant averages around 8-12pax nightly), which is a shame considering the offering is actually really good. Being told to cut staff hours and finishing between 1am-2am yet coming in on a weekend and seeing 5-6 casuals for breakfast looking after 60-80 people was pretty depressing.
