What’s it like working at Seed Heritage?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees consistently praise the supportive and friendly team environment at Seed Heritage, with colleagues who are welcoming and work well together. The generous staff discount is highly valued, and many appreciate their approachable store managers who provide positive feedback and clear instructions. The inclusive company culture has seen recent improvements, with upper management showing commitment to employee well-being and career development. Staff also value the opportunities for internal progression, with many advancing from entry-level to management roles, and enjoy working with high-quality, fashionable products.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as communication from upper management needing improvement, particularly regarding support and feedback for casual employees. Some reviews mention that area managers can be very focused on budgets and sales targets. The fast-paced retail environment can be demanding, requiring quick adaptation to monthly product changes and high performance expectations. Additionally, training and induction processes could be enhanced for new staff, and some employees have experienced inconsistent scheduling with limited or last-minute shifts.

Managers will only like you if you can make sales.
The good thingsI enjoy the relationships with other sales assistants; our store managers are usually positive and encouraging.
The challengesArea managers could use improvement; they seem to only care about profit and meeting budget, blaming sales assistants for low sales, sometimes even cutting shifts and even favouring some sales assistants over others. There are no interpersonal relationships formed with area managers and sales assistants, which I believe is integral in manager-employee relationships.

Terrible management, toxic environment, minimum wage, but still expecting you to go above and beyond
The good things- Generous Discounts; 50% for new stock, 40% for last month, etc. 40% off Kids new stock.
The challenges- Management needs to be seriously looked into. Area manager and in-store managers are extremely unprofessional. Managers talking behind AM's back, assistant store manager talking behind managers back. - Visual merchandisers are all incredibly rude and difficult to talk to. Talk down to you constantly. - Manager has forgotten to order bags and gift cards on multiple occasions - Managers and VMs will speak to you like a child. - Double Standards everywhere, certain people are allowed to stand around and talk for 40 mins and not work.. whilst others are told off for talking for a minute
