What’s it like working at St Andrew's Anglican College?

    AI summary of recent reviews

St Andrew's Anglican College is characterised by its supportive and family-oriented environment, where staff enjoy positive working relationships across all levels. The school benefits from strong leadership, particularly noting the principal's effectiveness, and features a student body that is generally well-motivated and supported by engaged families. These elements combine to create a professional and rewarding workplace environment.

However, staff members note some areas for consideration, including managing substantial workload expectations due to numerous school events and activities. The presence of multiple senior leadership positions has led to some unclear management structures, and staff must maintain detailed communication practices to meet the expectations of highly engaged parents.

St Andrews Technology TeachingThe students are great, very engaging, hard working, polite, respectful. The facilities are no where close to what a school offering technology studies should be. The work load is extremely high when you have to account for the extreme class sizes, the poor facilities, the lack of basic equipment, let alone lack of specialized equipment to facilitate technology teaching, you get an environment which is hard to work within. What equipment is available is either broken down, outdated, or needing repair which the teacher is expected to do. Clear differences in load is a big issue. Some teachers have a normal student numbers under 20 hours of contact time, while others have extreme numbers of student within the same contact time, clearly unfair and work regulatory bodies should be taking a closer look at the fairness across teacher loads. Same amount of contact time with 2-3x the number of students to report to is NOT equal or fair. It simply cannot be an exchange of respectful, polite students, beautiful grounds in exchange for extreme an excessive amount of teacher/student ratio. Regardless of contact time.
