Our vision 'Theatre without borders' is put into action every day as we perform in Sydney, around the country and around the world; as we partner with other organisations and other art form practitioners to explore the edges of theatre practice; and as we continue to inspire theatre appreciation and participation not only in theatres but schools, community halls - wherever people get together.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

What’s it like working at Sydney Theatre Company?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at the Sydney Theatre Company appreciate the opportunity to work with talented individuals and the access to shows and behind-the-scenes that their roles provide. The company is described as a welcoming and friendly work environment where people are passionate about their work, and working for such a prestigious employer can open doors for future opportunities.

However, some potential challenges include long hours, including early mornings and late nights, to accommodate certain roles. Employees may also need to familiarise themselves with theatre jargon and technical terms used in the industry. The old nature of the wharf premises can make it difficult to navigate and understand who does what and where everything is located. For performers, there is a need to maintain relevance and visibility through networking and keeping their profile active.

Great time, lots of learning, talking, opinions, most of all a friendly environment.
The good thingsI got the chance to work with many talented individuals and met some people I considered very good at their jobs, I also had the chance to see many plays during my time there.
The challengesI had to be diligent, waking up at 5am drinking a big mug of coffee so I could get on a train and be in sydney was hard and I would often come home late, exhausted, but I was more than happy to do all of that for the experiences I was given and the opportunities I was offered.
