After all the study and effort to get a contract here, I feel let down. I do not know why there's no face-to-face spport for new staff.
The good thingsOther educators are friendly. Students are polite.
The challengesNo support for new members of staff. All induction is on line. No one is steering the ship.

    Just a Number
The good things- new skill set - made some great friends - good benefits (salary packaging and novated leasing)
The challenges- poor management - lack of career development (wanted me to apply for the same role I already held, just to add extra responsibility for the same wage. Which also makes the job impossible.) - poor communication from management - lack of transparency from management - no flexible working arrangements, for managers only apparently - poor company culture (at times very toxic, bad behaviour is rewarded) - the office is dirty and no efforts from management to make it cleaner - everything is expected and not appreciated Don’t waste your hard work and time on a workplace that only sees you as a number and does not appreciate you.

The worst job I've ever had the misfortune to have. A few good folk work there, but TAFE is a thoroughly broken institution without the corporate willpower or skill to arrest its decline.
The good thingsWorst organisation I've ever worked for, bar none. Utterly useless management, world class leading bad IT and high number of incompetent teachers.
The challengesTotal lack of comms between colleagues, no systems, zero procedure and no willingness to embrace new methodologies.
