What’s it like working at Teekay Shipping?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Teekay Shipping maintains a strong reputation for employee care with good benefits, safety considerations, and excellent work-life balance. Employees particularly value their colleagues and team spirit, while appreciating the career opportunities available through the company's diverse fleet operations.

However, some areas for improvement include the need for more structured training programs, particularly for graduates and internal practices. The nature of shipping work presents inherent challenges with difficult schedules and periods of isolation, while broader industry challenges have created some uncertainty around long-term employment prospects.

Graduate Engineer program a waste of time, come for the money and leave when you get something else
The good thingsPay is good for a graduate role and there is hybrid work.
The challengesNo structured training program for graduates, you will be left fumbling around in the dark with no support or mentorship. They will blame the graduates instead for not knowing everything, lots of staff blaming here. Got scolded for 'not taking good enough photos' in an ENGINEERING POSITION, when I asked the manager for advice he was reluctant to help and just kept blaming me when I was just trying to learn. If you are a grad don't waste your time here!
