    The good thingsI genuinely enjoyed working with my teammates and the factory staff at Telwater and was fortunate to build many great friendships during my time there. Telwater offers a range of employee benefits and perks that are not commonly found in many other businesses. I learned a great deal under the guidance of my manager, particularly as I commenced with no prior experience. I was given the opportunity to grow and develop across multiple roles, starting in Customer Service, then being trained in Payroll, and most recently spending the past year training as the HR Coordinator. I was also able to work closely alongside the Health & Safety Officer, which allowed me to further expand my skills and knowledge. Over the past five years, I have gained substantial experience, knowledge, and professional skills, and I am very grateful for the opportunities and support provided throughout my time at Telwater.
    The challengesAt times, communication across the business could be inconsistent, and there were occasions where follow-through took longer than expected. I sometimes found that it could be challenging to obtain timely support or guidance when it was needed. While these situations were manageable, improved communication and quicker action would further strengthen the overall working experience.

    The challengesAs HR, I experienced ongoing challenges related to workplace culture, professionalism, and psychological safety. I felt excluded due to inconsistent communication and situations where concerns were raised in group chats rather than being addressed directly. Small but repeated moments, such as team activities proceeding without inclusive communication, contributed to this feeling. The environment could feel unprofessional at times, with side conversations and internal politics. I observed leadership behaviours that, in my view, didn’t always align with the organisation’s stated values around inclusivity, respect, and professionalism. This contributed to low morale and, from my perspective, higher turnover. Clearer expectations, more consistent communication, and a stronger focus on respectful and inclusive leadership would go a long way toward improving the overall culture and helping employees feel supported and valued.
