It’s probably not the best course to do if you want Work after finishing your degree it’s sctuwkkt super hard to find work and the university offers zero assistance. I would not recommend this degree.

The course it’s self covered an array of theoretical disciplines however lacked to offer the practical implementation of skills in a work like environment thought in internships and placements.
Response from Deakin University
Thank you for leaving a review. We really appreciate your honest feedback regarding practical aspects of the course, and it is helpful for us in continuing to improve the Bachelor of Criminology. We're happy that you found the course to cover a wide range of theory.

CourseBachelor of Criminology/Bachelor of Forensic Science
Completion date2017

I enjoyed studying at Deakin. Combining an arts and science degree actually lessened my course load per year than if I was just doing the single forensics degree, as arts units are typically less class hours per week than science.
Response from Deakin University
Thanks for leaving a review! It's great that you were able to combine both the Bachelor of Forensic Science and Bachelor of Criminology in a way that made your course load more manageable.

Support and delivery

How Deakin's online courses are delivered

As an online student you’ll watch lectures, complete readings and participate in tutorials, just like an on-campus student. The difference is you’ll do this online, when it suits you.

Deakin was one of the first universities in Australia to deliver courses for off-campus students, and they pride themselves on an online learning system that is cutting-edge, engaging and easy to use.

Through their platform CloudDeakin, you’ll:

  • Access almost all your learning resources
  • Watch the same lectures that are delivered on-campus, and
  • Interact with your tutors (you'll have one dedicated tutor for each unit).

You’ll also be involved in conversations with other students and your tutors through virtual classrooms and discussion boards.

Support services for online students

You can access the same support services as on-campus students – either via Deakin’s website, over the phone, on Skype, or in person if you are near a Deakin campus.

Specialist online advisers can help you develop successful study skills, discuss your course direction and provide career guidance.

You can also access:

  • Online library support
  • Counselling
  • Financial assistance
  • Medical services and more

The online orientation at the start of your course will introduce you to helpful resources.
