Academic content is spot on. Most of the teachers are willing to support with quick feedback. The art coursework and aboriginal studies are ridiculous and teachers were marking students more based on their personal opinion, rather than criteria based. The practicums are OK, see but lack of support from uni. I'm a Asian Australian who living in Australia 20 years. My overall comments from the schools (Primary) where I did my pract was excellent, well prepared, and excellent classroom management, except small grammatically mistakes were made during teaching the class. One of my supervisor teacher even said to me that "I was born to be a teacher, I and my efforts of teaching was 150%". However, I still failed the pract twice. More ridiculously, my fellow student whom shared the same teacher who gave me the comment above, was barely pass the same pract with poor organisations skills, lack of explicit teaching skills, as and incapable of classroom management. In short, I felt the indirect discrimination and preferences toward Asian background pre-service teacher teaching Australian English. I did enjoy my journey of study, I but unfortunately my dream of being an educator has came to an end due to the lack of support from uni, unfair treatment, and need to provide for my family. In summary, make sure you are top in literacy and numeracy, well financial prepare, and stay away from education primary if English isn't your first language.
