Course was great. A little pushed for time with assessments as was working full time as well. It took a year to get employment as everyone wanted clinical experience. But glad I completed the course as I now happily employed as an Enrolled Nurse.

The course could be more user friendly and better prepare you for working in the nursing profession.

The course was so much easier to understand and adapt to than i thought. Being a mature age student was a daunting thought but the tutors gave excellent support , took the time to understand my capabilities and always ensured that each student understood what was required of them. Our prac placements were designed to cover all aspects of nursing in the real world giving us the valuable opportunity of using the skills were were taught in tafe moc wards. Overall i enjoyed my time at tafe and not only took away my nursing deploma but a newly found confidence in myself.

Most teachers were amazing especially sue who taught us in labs. I thought the facilities such as the labs were amazing. The one thing that is terrible is helping us find a job I’ve been out of tafe now for over 2 years and still haven’t found a job! Lucky I’m at uni... was very frustrating! But I’m glad I did it because I had such a lead on top of the registered nurses who only did uni.

Good course outine. More group sessions needed. Mental health was NOT a priority and would have liked more practical & theoretical education; this is an essential component for students when confronting mh consumers, the medications related to diagnosis and expertise in: - ED. - ageded care. - psychiatric. - medical. Plus, IV (5 routes) of medication administration should have been included. Disappointed that I don't have that qualification when graduated.

Overall course was a positive experience however what you learn in class is very different to the real world. I believe nursing should be more hands on and less focus on the indepth academic studies.
