When you multiply all the different types of roles by all the different industry sectors that are currently on offer, it doesn't take long to work out that there are many, many great job opportunities available for the right candidates. You just have to make sure that you are in the right place at the right time.

But when you also consider that we are not just talking about full-time jobs, but part-time jobs and casual jobs as well, you start to get the idea that your employment possibilities are virtually endless.

Here are some statistics to show you exactly what we mean.

According to Google, in the year between January 2012 and January 2013 alone, searches for full-time jobs increased by a whopping 41%, with the majority of those searches coming from NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Searches for part-time jobs in that same period have increased by 6%, again principally in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Searches for casual jobs have increased year on year by 13% and interestingly, the top 3 states here are ACT, Tasmania and Queensland.

So what does all that mean for you?

Well to begin with, it indicates that there is healthy competition out there in the job seeking market. There are plenty of people who are actively seeking to make a change in their working life - and it follows that there are plenty of opportunities to do so.

There are plenty of people who are actively seeking to make a change in their working life - and it follows that there are plenty of opportunities to do so.

But what about the growth of job ads to match the amount of job searches?

In terms of full-time job ads, the numbers have remained fairly stable between January 2012 and January 2013.

Part-time job ads have increased significantly (18%) in that same 12 month period.

But the amount of job ads for casual jobs has skyrocketed by 49% year on year.

This job ad growth data tends to suggest a shift in the way people are working and the way employers are gearing their workforces.

And if you are someone who is looking for some flexibility in their work schedule to help accommodate other aspects of their life, this current scenario could be ideal for you.

Perhaps you have a young family, and you want to re-enter the workforce? You may have a lot to offer a prospective employer but can't commit the hours that a full-time job requires.

Or maybe you're studying and need work to help pay for the tuition (and the various other bills that life racks up)? Or possibly, you just want to gain some extra experience to add to your credentials when you graduate? Now is a great time to find some fulfilling and rewarding work that will fit in with your busy life.

But let's break it down even further and look at some of the trends emerging across different industry sectors.

The Top 3 industries posting full-time job ads in January 2013 are Education & Training, (which increased by 53% year on year); Healthcare & Medical (20%) and Call Centre & Customer Service (14%)

The Top 3 industries posting part-time job ads in January 2013 are Education & Training (a massive 72% increase from January 2012); Healthcare & Medical (an impressive 56%) and Administration & Office Support (29%).

The Top 3 industries posting casual job ads in January 2013 are (once again) Education & Training (another impressive increase of 72% in the past 12 months); Hospitality & Tourism (45%) and Healthcare & Medical (6%).

So what can we glean from this information?

Well the most obvious fact is that now is a great time to look for your ideal job in Education & Training whether it's full-time, part-time or casual. So if that is your vocation, you may very well find yourself in the box seat for a step up in your career.

And if it's not your area of expertise, and you are looking for a change of direction, maybe you should seriously consider it. If you are not sufficiently qualified for a role in Education & Training, then perhaps one of the many courses offered by SEEK Learning would be the perfect way to take advantage of this clearly thriving sector.

The beauty of the current state of play in terms of the different types of roles on offer is that there are options aplenty.

And if that option happens to be a casual or part-time role, when what you really want is a full-time one, treat it as a foot in the door for now. Grab the opportunity and use it as a chance to show what you can do and eventually, it just might turn into the permanent position you're after.

You need to identify which area appeals to you most (whether it is your current industry or something completely new and fresh) and which type of job suits you best.

It is a truly exciting time to expand your horizons and grab one of these many opportunities with both hands.

Be flexible and open to options, and who knows how far it will take you?
