With the silly season now upon us, we decided to ask the Australian workforce what they considered the worst behavior at work Christmas parties. Here are the top five behaviours to avoid to keep your professional reputation in check.
1. DISHING DIRT
ON WORK
Talking inappropriately about your workplace, boss or colleagues is ranked as the worst behaviour at work Xmas parties.
2. DRINKING
TOO MUCH
Consuming too much alcohol and appearing intoxicated at a work event is the second-most likely act to be frowned upon by workmates.
3. PUBLIC DISPLAYS
OF AFFECTION
Being overly affectionate with another colleague in front of others comes in at number three for bad conduct at work Xmas parties.
4. GOSSIPING
Revealing information at a work party that you otherwise wouldn't share can not only make for an awkward Monday - it's also number four on the bad behaviour list.
5. OVERSHARING
Going into too much detail about your personal life and overstepping your professional boundaries is ranked the fifth-worst Christmas party behaviour.
