Volunteer Retail Assistant

'Excellent learning experience'

Ipswich, Queensland, Australia — 1 year ago

The good things

Excellent volunteer role, with great staff. Learning and development opportunities in relation to retail were excellent.

The challenges

Poor management in relation to Opportunity Shops. They were unsupportive and unappreciative. Can't comment on other management streams however.

About Animal Welfare League

Animal Welfare League NSW (AWL) is a registered charity that has been caring for surrendered, neglected and abandoned animals for over 55 years. AWL is authorised to investigate allegations of animal cruelty under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. AWL operates three animal welfare shelters, a veterinary clinic and has 13 branches of active volunteers across NSW. All animals available for adoption are temperament assessed, vet checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. Importantly AWL aims to match all adoptable animals with the lifestyle of potential owners, to ensure a long and happy relationship for all. Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.
